Meeting minutes from Michigan Baptist Bible Fellowship meeting on 12-08-15

At United Baptist Church, Westland, MI

Pastors in attendance John Allen, Dwight Billingsley, Greg Burdine,  David Chittenden,  Herb Gilbert, Daryl Fanzel, Jim Hopkins, Jason Reaves,  Richard Smith, Glenn Tatterson, Jon Wilkes, and Walt Yeomans.

 

Greg Burdine, state chairman, called the meeting to order.

Opening Prayer: Dave Chittenden

Previous Meeting Minutes: Motion to accept by Daryl Franzel, second by Glen taterson, all agreed,   motion carried.

Treasurers Report: Presented by Richard Smith, Motion  to accept by Walt Yeomansl, second by Glen Taterson, all agreed, motion carried.

State Rep. Report: Special Christmas offering for BBC, they have been given another opportunity with a matching gift grant for $250,000. Offering is to be taken over the holidays.

Tribune transition has gone smoothly.  Tribune offering is to be collected in February.  The goal for the State of Michigan $15,000.

Missions Report: Walt Yoemans shared they have been participating in Release Time. Children come to his church from the public school for 1 hour of Bible training a month.  Last month they had 96 in attendance with 3 saved,  They continue to have visitors every week.  Three ladies have raised their hands for salvation over the last month, but haven’t made the commitment.

Old Business:

New Business: Paul Hopkins presented his ministry to Peru.  Paul grew up here in Michigan at First Baptist Washington, attended BBC and was approved as a BBFI missionary in Sept.

James Gentry presented his ministry to an Arabic nation sensing his calling to leave the Pastorate.  He is going out under Central Baptist Clearing House.

Brandt Leich presented his ministry to plant a church in Winter Garden, Florida.  Brandt received his call to ministry while attending Beacon Baptist, currently ministers at Park Crest in Springfield.

 

Next Meeting: Jan 11, 2016 at Zehnder’s in Frankenmuth for dinner and fellowship

Prayer requests: Bill Gucker – Dave Chittenden’s son-in-law was diagnosed with a brain tumor, beginning chemo.

Maxine McGeorge – Secretary at United Baptist Church lost her husband last month.

Gerald Manchester – possible hernia surgery also caring for his wife.
