Meeting minutes from Michigan Baptist Bible Fellowship meeting on 10-14-14

At Capital City Baptist Church, Holt, MI

Pastors in attendance Jonathan Allen, Dwight Billingsley, Greg Burdine, David Chittenden, Keith Clark, Daryl Franzel, Herbert Gilbert, Dale Lewis, John Reilly, Richard Smith, Glenn Tatterson,  Jon Wilkes, Rob Laing

 

Greg Burdine, state chairman, called the meeting to order.

Opening Prayer: David Chittenden

Meeting minutes were presented from May and September meetings. Motion made to accept the minutes by Herb Gilbert, Second by Glenn Tatterson. All agreed, motion carried.

Treasurers Report: Presented by Greg Burdine due to Walt Yeaoman’s absence..  Motion made to accept the treasurers report by David Chittenden, Second by John Allen.   All agreed, motion carried

State Rep. Report: Glenn Tatterson – Glen shared that the NCPO is no longer loaning money, and most of the operations have been moved to the mission’s office. Positive reports regarding the colleges, with attendance up in both, and BBC Springfield is close to obtaining another matching gift for $600,000, just $50,000 short as of September meeting.

Missions Report:

Walt Yeomans shared attendance has been up for the summer. Record numbers in Sunday School. A number saved over the last few weeks. Praise God.

Dwight Billingsly shared the attendance is so well that they need more space.  For $18,000 they can add another room that will house 30 more students in the morning and evening sessions.

Joshua Casey missionary to Belgium shared his passion to get to the gospel out to a country that has a 98% non-believer rate.

Old Business: Vote to change the constitution, all of the wording was taken out of the constitution regarding Camp Chautauqua.  motion made by Dale Lewis, Second by Daryl Franzel, all agreed, motion carried.

New Business:

David Chittenden made a motion from the Judea committee to extend the monthly support for Walt Yeomans for an additional 6 months. Second by Richard Smith. All agreed, motion carried.

Judea Committee recommended to all the pastors to take on Dwight Billingsley of Arabic Christian ministries.  If 6 churches would take him on for support for $50 a month that is more than the Judea Committee was supporting.

 

Next Meeting: November 11 at First Baptist Church of Marysville.
